In my first session with Dusty, my ADHD coach, today, she suggested that waking up, playing with my phone, and then watching TV while I eat breakfast might be over-stimulating my brain, which is one reason why its so hard to get stuff done during the day. And in any case, my habit of waking up, dozing, falling asleep, turning off my alarm, dozing, turning off my second alarm, playing games on my phone, surfing Twitter, turning off my third alarm, then falling asleep or having sleep paralysis until at least 11 is... not exactly conducive to productivity.

So in a bit I'm going to put my phone in the hallway where I have to get up to get it and then play a solo tabletop rpg somewhere that's not my bedroom until I get sleepy (so I don't fall asleep with the light on).

One hard thing is going to be figuring out what to do for the first few hours. I can't read, because if I pick up a book I'm not going to put it down until I'm finished (and a ton of my books are on my Kindle, especially the ones with short stories which I could conceivably put down). And pretty much all of my hobbies and projects involve the computer for reference at the very least (writing, drawing, conlanging, sculpting...)

We'll see what happens.





In other ADHD news, I'm going to start using Habitica again and I've cleaned up my to-do, dailies, habits, and guilds. And I'm going to keep track of what I get done during the week on one of my Trello boards so I can accurately tell Dusty.

If I do well, I want to buy Ironsworn in paper as a reward (I got the PDF since that's free). It's a good system for solo rpging. Gotta figure out how long it'd take to earn it.
