Story Sparks sketches part 3

These are some that I'm not sure about.
Loss / Recovery

The idea is good, but it ended up looking like a gumball machine. With Recovery up, it's more obvious what my idea was: a funnel with balls piling up (recovery) or falling away (loss). Maybe change them from balls to stars and change the red background to something else?
Dream

I actually kinda like it, but I don't think it works really well for Dream. It's hard to come up with an image for dream. I'd like something reversible.
Illusion

Like Dream, it's hard to come up with an image. But I think this one is too simple or literal (it's supposed to be the neverending handkerchief trick)
Revelation

The idea just didn't really work out. It was supposed to have a ghostly reflection on the reverse. Again, a very difficult one to illustrate.
Transformation

It's just too cliche.
That's it for now.

Date: 2025-10-08 02:13 am (UTC)If you redo the Loss/Recovery idea, I suggest you change the background substantially. The first thing I saw was underpants, legs, and a belly, except the underpants had an opening? I like the idea of loss and recovery as, essentially, two aspects of a tarot card; but you need a background that supports those meanings better. Of course, making sure you don't do something that distracts from your goal is one of the things sketches are for.
What would be the reverse meaning of dream? Maybe that would help you find an image you like better. And maybe this zebra sketch just needs a couple of concepts that suit it better?

I did a new sketch of dream, along with a few other cards, tonight and it's a lot stronger in representing the different facets of dreaming.
